the work of Ezra Stroller
This work is by Ezra stroller a famous photographer who was born in Illinois in Chicago, most of his work is of America and his hometown, to me his photographs are very unique and I also feel that he puts his emotions into his pictures. I like the 11th picture on this screenshot because it is very dull and gloomy it makes me think it’s out of an old movie in the late 19th centaury.
I also like Ezra strollers use of Photoshop to me it looks like he has used multiple techniques, he has most probably used levels to make the photograph go dark and eerie and maybe he has used sharpness to make the photo look like its more in focus. He could of also used crop to get rid of any unnecessary background, which he did not need. Also he could of used hue/saturation to desaturate the picture and drain it of any colour.
I like the use of composition, he is obviously a skilled photographer who takes pride in his work, it looks like he carefully plans all of his work before he takes his photos I can see this by his use of angles and use of precision, his photographs are very accurate and I will use his work to influence my skill at photography. It seems that Ezra stroller really liked the black and white Photoshop technique because most of his research pictures are mostly black and white, perhaps this is because he think that photographs look better when they have been absorbed of all their colour and are just plain and dull.

Ezra stroller was born on 16 May 1915 in Chicago,Illinois
he produced most of his work in the years 1930-1980
he has a architectural photographer so he photographed buildings
he has a geometric style which means that all his photographs are dull and all very graphical they are also all linear
his photographs are very structured and organized. this means he probably had some preparation before taking his photographs
the things i like about Ezra strollers work is its all very organized and very professional i also like the contrast between his photographs
i like photograph three in the gallery because of the composition and the format its been taken in portrait, its very professional
i think the photographer has also photo shopped it to make it look dull it looks like something out of a horror movie, i like the contrast between the black and white. its very monochromatic. I will use this to influence my own work by using his ideas.

My own photographic work
My exam work so far
So far I think that my exam work is good however to improve it even more I could do some more annotation on my photographs, if I do this it will push my grade up more because I can show the examiner that I know how to comment on my photos. I could also improve my overall grade by using my free time to go out and take some extra photos will tell the examiner that I can be bothered to do some extra work of my own back, this will give my website a personal touch.
I will then edit my photos in Photoshop to make them look even better the techniques I will use is:
Lens flare: for the pictures that are nice and bright
Black and white: I will use this technique to make the dull pictures look even darker and more mysterious
Levels: I will use this technique to make the picture more moody and eerie.
Sharpness: this will make my slightly out of focus pictures in focus.
The last technique I am going to use is:
Select>modify>feather>250
I will then select inverse
And then I will use levels to get a perfect vignette.

Here is a mind map of my Photoshop techniques
I started my project by photographing the houses in my own road. The are a typical 1960s style architecture.
I explored using different Photoshop techniques to help make the images more interesting. I have isolated my house by selecting a colour isolation tool. Changing the image to part negative was another technique I used to develop and explore the image.
My own photographs-
the commercial sector of Liverpool City Centre
I am very pleased with the very dramatic set of images that I produced in Liverpool City Centre.
The architectural styles of the city centre are very diverse. It was the contrast of contemporary and classical architecture that I was keen to photograph and explore. The glass and steel of the modern buildings contrasted brilliantly against the stone work and columns of St gorges Hall.
more of my own photographs
i like the above images because i like what the fisheye lens does to them, it makes them distorted and very weird however like the way they can capture shots that a normal nikon camera would not be able to comprehend, my favourite photo out of all the images i my gallery is the second to last one. i like this photograph because it has captured i lovely view of the river mersey and the waterfront.
Final 10 hour exam
april 24th

i am now going to show you how i did the above photograph
firstly i opened up preview>adjust colour>saturation down to the bottom>sharpness to the top
i then opened up photoshop>adjustment>levels>gradient map>reverse
i then merged to of my pictures together however i changed the opacity of the second image i then changed it to overlay.
