research:John Davis a landscape photographer
Looking at the work of others has helped me develop my own work. It has given me ideas and technical understanding that I have used as a foundation to develop and improve my work. The thing I like about john Davises work is the use of composition, he always focuses his camera on something in the photographs he takes for example on the 10th picture in the gallery his intention is to get the person looking at the picture to focus his eyes on the pier and the gloomy atmosphere. i also like his understanding of photoshop, in the second to last picture he has made the sky really desaturated. the use of this is it make us focus on the village, this is why the background is blurred perhaps john Davis has used the photoshop technique gaussian blur to get this effect.
Ideas to develop my work.
my own photographic work
My own work influenced by John Davis
I was very happy with the colour images that I initially took. However, referring back to
my initial photographic reference I then worked on the same images in Black and white-
like those I researched. I think that they are far more powerful and successful as images.
The skies in particularise both dramatic and interesting.

I like these black and white images more than the photographs i took before. i have turned these photos to black and white in preview because i think they look much better desaturated than their original colour, they are better because i feel that the sky has more exposure than the original photographs. i like some composition as well i like the angles of some of the pictures that i have taken.
